I love filling my house with trays, in different sizes and shapes. Not in different colors, I like them all white, so the Frenchic handmade tray is no exception! :)
Of course you can have similar tastes and choose the same color but you can also choose any other color, just make sure it’s one you really like or one that matches the style of your home.
The Frenchic handmade tray I’m showing you today was made from a regular piece of wood, in our atelier. It totally represents the ”Frenchic” style, because it’s French and also ”tres chic” :) You can find a place for this beauty in your home and use it as a decorative piece, as a tray or even a sign.
To make the Frenchic handmade tray you will need a piece of wood (recycle an old one or use a new piece) that you will have to paint in two contrasting colors (I used black for the first layer and white for the top coat), some candle wax (between the layers of paint) to rub on the edges and on the area you want to distress later on, some sandpaper to distress the edges and give the tray a chippy Shabby Chic – Cottage look and an amazing French ephemera graphic from the Graphics Fairy that will complete the whole look.
For the image transfer you have several options, like using a medium gel or Mod Podge to transfer the image to the wood, you can hand paint it or just use waterslide decals (my favorites when it comes to getting a clear and clean final result) – you can find all about using and transferring images with decals here. You will also need a sealer to protect your work and some handles (I used some black drawer handles from Ikea, I attached them when the tray was all ready).
You can get really creative creating your own Frenchic handmade tray, from a simple piece of wood, as you can see, so have fun creating! :)

Bellissimo, se posso chiedere dove hai trovato immagini e le scritte applicate su vassoio e altri oggetti?

Hana, grazie mille! :)
The French graphic I used for this project is from The Graphics Fairy, like almost all the French images I use for my projects.
You can check her blog – http://www.thegraphicsfairy.com – you will find a great selection of free amazing images.
