DIY French Vases - Turn ordinary vases from Ikea into French beauties in only 2 steps with black acrylic paint and French decals
I fell in love with Ikea ever since I first step in that magical place and have brought home with me some lovely items every time I went shopping there.
Things that I really needed to buy, of course! :) Mainly white stuff, of course! ;)
Like these Ikea enamel vases, that come in two different sizes and can be easily used to decorate your home, whether you decide to use them with fresh or dried flowers. They can also be used as pitchers in your kitchen or for holding utensils. Don't you just love things that can be used in so many different ways? I know I do, especially that I like to move and rearrange things around my home on a regular basis.
DIY French Vases (Ikea hack) in 2 steps
1. I used some black acrylic paint to distress the edges and give them a little chippy & rusted look
2. And then ... of course I had to Frenchify them so I used decals* to transfer the lovely ''Chocolat Lombart Paris'' French graphic from The Graphics Fairy to one of their sides.
I loved my new French vases instantly! :)
This is just my kind of DIY project: easy to make , with only a few ''ingredients'', but with a beautiful and elegant final result. Not to mention the great satisfaction you get when making or creating something on your own, something original and unique.

On the DIY FRENCH VASES...I did the exact same thing, but found the acrylic paint rubs off easily. I assume you sealed the paint with something? Can you please tell me what that is?
